During the Second Vatican Council, the Vatican recommended that Bishops encourage the involvement and participation of the laity so they might play an active role in the life of the Church.
Our Parish Pastoral Council (PPC) does not function in an administrative or financial role but rather as a mission-focused team helping to maintain the vibrancy of our Church through communication. The PPC essentially acts as additional eyes and ears of St. Aloysius Parish. The PCC's goals are communicated frequently and they work in a collaborative effort with the parishioners and Parish staff to lead St. Aloysius into the future, furthering the mission of Christ.
Our PPC's goals are to:
Seek out the needs and concerns of our fine parish
Re-introduce and promote our current parish ministries
Propose possible “new” ministries
Encourage parish member participation and pastoral activity
Recommend surveys and other means to collect feedback from parishioners
Serve as a conduit for feedback from individual parishioners and the parish as a whole regarding suggestions to enhance our parish's Word, Worship, Community, and Service activities and outreach
Currently the PPC is involved in overseeing the implementation (and updating as needed) of our Pastoral Plan as well as providing assistance and support to our many ministries.
Any questions for the Parish Council can be sent to Msgr. Emery at [email protected].
