My name is Victor Muwonge. I was born in Uganda and moved with my family to Bergenfield at the age of eight. Raised in a faithful Catholic family, I attended Mass regularly growing up, an experience that planted deep roots in my faith even during periods when I struggled spiritually.
I attended Paramus Catholic High School before studying nursing and psychology/counseling at Rutgers University. During college, I began to drift from living my faith fully, but through God’s grace and a difficult period of suffering related to health issues and surgeries, I experienced a profound return to Christ. I went on to finish college and began my master’s in counseling.
During this time, I was able to deepen my prayer life and love for Scripture and theology. About halfway through the program, the Lord called me to enter the seminary. I am in my 3rd year of theology, and I am excited to have the opportunity to gain more pastoral experience by spending time at St. Aloysius before ordination.
Some fun facts about me: I like movies and reading - particularly sci-fi. I am the middle child and have two sisters.
